Even though I was not born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I am proud to say, I have lived here 46 of my 49 years. I Graduated from Sault Area High School in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan in 1989. In high school I enjoyed playing Varsity football, basketball, and baseball. My family includes 4 wonderful children and a great wife. My whole family enjoys spending time in the great outdoors, which, besides the people, is the main reason I love the UP.
In 1991 I graduated from Lansing Community College with a degree in Architectural Design. In 1992 I attended Lake Superior State University majored in the Fire Science program. In 2014
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Colorado Technical University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.
One of the things I believe in is giving back to my community. I have served as the president of the local Woman’s Shelter, was the Upper Peninsula Regional Coordinator of the Child I.D. Program for the Michigan Masons, a school board member for North Star Academy, and co-founder of an at-risk youth mountain biking program called, Start the Cycle. Because of my educational background and my involvement in my community I believe I am better prepared to assist and help people from all walks of life.
I have been an entrepreneur all of my adult life. I have always enjoyed getting to know my customers and giving the best customer service I possibly can. In 2011, I took and pasted my Michigan Life & Health Licenses. Later I took and past my Variable Annuity License (Series 6) and my Mutual Fund License (Series 63) in 2012.
I picked the Medicare Planning Industry, because I enjoy working with the Senior Market, and feel I am helping people work through some of the most difficult and confusing transitions in their life. Choosing the right fit for each individual whether it is a Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage plan, Long Term Care, Final Expense or the right Annuity is a real challenge, and it gives me great satisfaction. Not all my consultations result in sales or commissions earned, but I am very proud to help those individuals, get the help they need by directing them to the proper agencies and experts who will help assist us with our client’s health and financial needs.
I was Born and raised in Marquette Michigan and Graduated from Marquette Senior High School in 1987. After high school I attended Northern Michigan University and majored in Finance and Marketing.
Currently I live in Little Lake Michigan with my wife Michelle Swanson and four children. All of our children are very active in school sports and keep Michelle and I very busy chasing them around from event to event. On the side for me I like to spend my time volunteering. In 2009 I joined the American Legion Post 349 in Little Lake Michigan as a Son of The American Legion. From 2011 to 2014 I was the commander of the Sons at Post 349. Currently as of this spring I now serve as the First Vice.
In 1998 I obtained my Michigan Life and Health License and have been practicing insurance ever since. Starting in 2004 my main focus of insurance expertise became assisting my clients with their health insurance and Medicare Planning needs.
Currently I assist small business owners, individuals, Medicare eligible individuals and seniors with their health and life insurance needs. I take pride in that I have a personal relationship with all my clients. I have never considered myself to be a high pressure sales person when it comes to my clients. My clients are happy to have an agent that they can call 7 days a week to answer any questions that they might have. My goal with each and every client that I serve is to educate them on their many different options and then assist them in the selection that best suits their insurance needs
I have been working off and on in the insurance industry for the past 20 years selling health insurance. I recently joined the MSISUPM agency because of my desire to help people with their health care needs and strive to help you make the best decisions to meet your individual needs. Prior I owned a local and long distance moving and storage company helping people through one of the most stressful times in their lives. I am also a veteran of the first Gulf War where I served honorably with the United States Army’s famed 82nd Airborne Division as an infantryman and eventually as a squad leader. In my free time I like to spend time with my wife and two children.
My goal to provide you with the best information, options and service. By doing so you will feel comfortable and confident in recommending us to your friends and family when they are in need of health care planning. If at anytime you have questions or concerns, please contact us so we can address them and help you in your time of need.
Born from a third-generation builder, I previously was a licensed general contractor specializing in custom build projects for both residential and commercial clients in the greater Grand Blanc area. After the economic pull back in 2008, I changed careers and obtained my life, health and annuity licenses helping families with mortgage protection, Medicare, health and retirement planning.
I love the outdoors and am not a fan of “working from inside the office”. I joined the MSISIUPM Agency team in January 2019 and I feel like I can be a great asset to the firm with my vast experience in the building and construction trades along with my experience in insurance. I met my wife in Minsk, Belarus and we have been happily married for over 10 years and live in Genesee County with our three wonderful children.
I am a native of the UP, having been born and raised in Houghton. I graduated from Houghton High School in 1990. I am a veteran of the US Army, and a graduate of Spring Arbor University, earning a BA in Family Life Education in 2002. Following graduation, I received my credential as a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE), a role focused on preventive education and life skills training. I then worked in that arena via church ministry and the non-profit world for several years. I earned my Michigan Life and Health Insurance license in 2016. I have a great desire to help people thrive in all areas of life, particularly where finances are concerned as they have such a significant impact on the health and well-being of individuals and families.
I live in Gwinn, MI with my wife and our six children. Recently, I also began working toward my Private Pilot license, a goal I have had since childhood! I am very excited for this opportunity to work with people in an area of such high importance, and I look forward to helping others in the same way that I desire when I myself am a client: in an honest, non-pressurized manner that demonstrates deep personal respect. My goal is to build genuine relationships with my clients and provide them with the best service possible. I am looking forward to working with the entire team at MSIS and those whom we serve!
